Britain’s only fully festival-focused awards are back for another major edition on Tuesday 5 December 2023 and this year’s shortlists have been announced. The ceremony, banquet and festive drinks will all take place at Manchester’s Escape to Freight Island, an event aimed at the entire UK festival sector and beyond. Each festival is open to voting and all hopefuls have to do is ensure their event is registered for the public vote, while fans can also nominate events, people and suppliers for the judged categories.
This year, the most notable festivals will once again be awarded with two new categories: Best Micro Festival, which celebrates these super boutique events, and Transport Impact Innovator, which spotlights festivals that strive to reduce the massive impact of public travel.
These are in addition to recurring fan-voted awards including Best Large, Medium and Small Festival, Best Metropolitan Festival, Best New Festival, The Grassroots Festival Award, Best Family Festival, The UK Greener Festival Award and Best Non-Music Festival.
In addition to these awards, a special panel of 20 jury members from the festival industry will also be put together to assess other award winners, such as Best Festival Production, The Brand Activation Award, Promoter of the Year, Line-Up of the Year, The Community Impact Award and much more.
Manchester is one of Britain’s premier festival cities with a rich and diverse music and entertainment heritage, and Escape to Freight Island will once again host and come alive with music and festival lovers all coming together to celebrate with a menu which emphasizes the offerings of their own food stalls and all hosted by a soon to be announced best-selling band.
